Every Child Deserves a Good Start

About Us

Equal Head Start is an early childhood education movement with a difference. It is initiated by NTUC First Campus to celebrate, encourage and inspire families, educators, and individuals passionate in giving all our kids a good head start in life.

We’d love to hear your stories of everyday heroes, especially those who (unwittingly) made a difference in a young child’s life! Tell us how you, your young child or someone you know was given a helping hand. What difference did this make? How did it change the person?

Equal Head Start isn’t just about great heroic acts. Any kind or thoughtful action which provided a young child with a much needed boost deserves to be shared. We’d be delighted if you can share your own stories of giving a young child a leg up, and how that touched or transformed you!

Have a different view to the stories being shared? Feel free to express yourself! However, do keep conversations lively and animated but civil and respectful.

Ultimately, we hope to touch your heart and inspire you to give more opportunities to our young children, regardless of their financial, ethnic, social, or family backgrounds.

Let us trigger your imagination, and spur you to help our precious young kids in creative and unexpected ways.

Have you heard of Aesop’s fable of the hare and the tortoise?

Everybody loved this Aesop fable, and we thought that it would make a great illustration of what we are trying to do.

We believe that everybody deserves a good start in life, regardless of whether they were quick off the blocks as a swiftly hopping hare or began slowly as a slow walking tortoise. Through this movement, we hope to help every child receive the help that they deserve so that they can do better in the race of life.

Hopefully, this will level the playing field and turn their slow start into a winning finish!
